     Margaret Scott Margaret Scott studied in London at the Royal College of Music with Cyril Smith, and afterwards in Budapest, and then Paris with Perlemuter. She won several prestigious prizes, including the Hopkinson Silver Medal, and recorded the concerto K 488 for Radio 3. Her career has been varied and successful.

She has given solo and chamber recitals in France and Britain, and her concerto engagements, include Mozart's « Jeunehomme », K 271 with the European Chamber Orchestra.

In 1998 she recorded an acclaimed CD of French Music with wind instruments and narrator, and she has given performances, both as pianist and conductor, of opera and choral works, ranging from the Renaissance to the twenty-first century. Between 1984 and 1996, she was Head of Keyboard at Uppingham School.

Several of her pupils, have won national and international awards, including second prize in the "Concours pour les grands amateurs" in Paris in 2006.

Since 2005 she has been giving lecture recitals which have appealed to general audiences and specialist musicians alike in Scotland, England, France and Belgium. Her most recent recording is of Schubert's « Winterreise », with the French bass Marc Fouquet.

In 2008 she founded the Ste Julienne choir which sings at festivals in the Verviers parish church of Ste Julienne to give young people the opportunity of singing great works from the classical repertoire. They have made several radio broadcasts, singing masses by Haydn, Byrd, Victoria and Mozart.

In 2011 she was appointed conductor of the Société Royale de l'Emulation, a Verviers choir which has been in existence for over one hundred fifty years and which gave the first performances of works by Lekeu at the end of the nineteenth century.

The Emulation and the Ste Julienne choirs have performed, with orchestra theMozart Requiem, Haydn’s Creation, Messiah, Bach's St John Passion, theFauré Requiem as well as several Bach Cantatas and Mozart's Missa Brevis K 192

To raise funds for a concert, and for a school for disabled children in Canterbury, she organised a ‘Bachathon’, playing the second book of Bach’s’ ‘48’ in 2014 at a concert in the Verviers Museum.

In 2016 she conducted a performance of the Brahms Requiem with her choirs and full professional orchestra in Verviers, and, in 2017 she directed the Ste Julienne choir at mass in the St Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican.

In 2019 she moved to Brussels where she now conducts a choir drawn from NATO employees. On the 5th December of 2020, she plans to give a performance of Benjamin Britten's cantata St Nicolas, and Autumn by the well-known English composer, Stevie Wishart, in the Anglican Pro Cathedral.
